2014 Gingerbread Competition and Display
The judgeing was held December 1st. Results and display information is below
The competition was strong this year with some incredible entries. We will
photos later in the month. Thank you for your interest! Check back here in
August 2015 to enter next year's competition!
All Entries Can be Seen During These Hours at
The Athens Co. Museum, 65 N. Court St.
Tuesday, Dec. 2 noon to 4:00
Wednesday, Dec. 3 noon to 4:00
Thursday, Dec 4 noon to 8:00 p.m. (the night that Santa Arrives Uptown!)
Friday, Dec. 5 noon to 4:00
Saturday, Dec. 5 noon to 1:30 Then the Creations are being moved to the windows along Court Street where they will be displayed until January 2nd.
First place prize of $200 in child's category:
Rebecca Lassey's "Middle School Madness" which will be displayed in Artifacts, 2 W. State and Court.
First place prize of $200 in the teen category:
Alli Holm with "Hagrid's Hut" which will be displayed in Little Professors
Books, 65 S. Court St.
First place prize of $200 in the adult category:
Cherie D'Mello with "Pirate Ship" which will be displayed in Lucky's Sport
Tavern. 11 N. Court St.
First place prize of $200 in the group category
Lindsey Meili and Terry Swank for "Fairy Christmas" which will be displayed
in Keith Chapman Jewelers, 8 S. Court St. Second Place goes to the Chambers
Family for "Woodland Cabin" which will be displayed in the County Commisioners
window at 15 S. Court St.
Grand Prize of $500 in the Non-Professional Category
goes to Barbara Miller and her group for "The Daniel Stewart House, 1816"
which will be displayed in the Hocking Valley Bank, 23 S. Court St. Second
Place goes to Sonya Ferrier for "The Athena Theatre" which will be displayed
in the County Commisioners window at 15 S. Court St.
Grand Prize of $500 in the Professional Category
goes to Nancy Mingus and Jennifer Dillie for "Athens Train Station, 1960s"
which will be displayed at At 19 N. Court St. Second Place goes to Olivia
Johnson and Eric Allchin for "Stocker Center" which will be displayed in the
window at Frognet, 6 S. Court St.

"Lin Hall, The Ridges" by Kristin Barron, Family and Friends will be at Court
Street Coffie, 67 S. Court St.
"Cutler Hall" by Sarah Boumphrey will be at The College Book Store, 50 S. Court St.
"The ladd Ridge Dairy Barn Christmas" by the Van Nostran Family will be Cross
Court Cards and Gifts, 45 S. Court St.
"The Dairy Barn" by Angela Wince will be at The Other Place, 43 S. Court St.
"55 Elmwood Place" by the Holm Family will be at Mountain Laurel, 25 S. Court St.
"Nelsonville's Brick Kiln Park" By Otis Meeks and Carrie Hickel will be in
the County Commisioners window at 15 S. Court Street.
"Christmas Time on the Ridges" by Casey Siemer, Liz Siemer, Deanna Conroy and
Randi Taylor will be at So Livi's, 42 N. Court St.
And a special thanks goes to Sarah Boumphrey who created "An Homage to Union Street"
which was not entered into the competition, but was created in the spirit of community
to remember the Union Street Businesses damaged by the recent fire. It Will be displayed
in the Window of the Athens County Historical Society and Museum.

Entries are to be submitted on December 1st and displayed
uptown until January 3rd.
